Sunlight, Screens & Soul: A Dialogue Between Prernamurti Shriji, Keshavi, and Lavanya

In a screen-lit world where fatigue, Vitamin D deficiency, and artificial “glow” have become normal, we often forget the simplest healer of all—the Sun.

Long before supplements and skincare trends, Indian wisdom recognized sunlight as medicine, intelligence, and spiritual energy.

This dialogue brings Prernamurti Shriji into conversation with Keshavi a Gen Z and Lavanya a Gen Alpha, where ancient solar wisdom meets modern life—revealing why morning sunlight is not just healthy, but sacred.

When Shriji Talks About the Sun, Keshavi and Lavanya Listen

Lavanya (smiling, phone in hand):

Shriji, is the Sun just for photos and vitamin reels, or does it actually do something?

Shriji (gently):

The Sun is not content for reels, child. Lord Surya is the deity of health and intellect. He governs your body, mind, and clarity.

Keshavi (half laughing):

We literally live inside screens, Shriji. AC rooms, laptops, night mode. Is that why everyone feels tired all the time?

Shriji:

Exactly. You live indoors—small flats, closed windows. Sunlight doesn’t touch your skin. The result?

Vitamin D3 deficiency, Vitamin B12 deficiency, weak immunity, dull skin, restless minds.

Parlours, Filters, and the Illusion of Glow

Lavanya:

But people say skincare fixes everything. Filters too 😄

Shriji (smiling):

People spend thousands in parlours, yet nothing truly changes. Only cosmetic companies glow.

True radiance comes from sitting in sunlight.

Keshavi:

That hurts… but it’s true. Next day, same face..!

Shriji:

Because the glow is not painted—it is grown. Sunlight awakens life in the skin. Parlours only cover fatigue; the Sun removes it.

The Correct Way to Take Morning Sunlight

Lavanya:

So… how do we “consume” sunlight properly?

Shriji:

Not consume—receive.

Sit in early morning sunlight, around 7 a.m.

Let the rays fall on:

  •  Knees

  •  Navel

  •  Chest (Hridaya)

  •  Face

This chest region is the heart. That is why we chant Aditya Hridaya Stotra.

Keshavi:

For heart health?

Shriji

For both kinds of heart.

The physical heart that beats…

and the emotional heart that fears, overthinks, and imagines disaster.

Sun Worship for Anxiety, Fear, and Weak Willpower

Lavanya (softly):

Shriji… does sunlight really help fear?

Shriji:

Yes. A fearful mind is a weak heart.

Those who constantly think “what if something goes wrong” need Surya upasana the most.

Sun worship strengthens courage, confidence, and stability.

 Why Only Morning Sunlight Works?

Keshavi:

What if we step out later? Around 10 or 11?

Shriji (firm but kind):

Then don’t blame me for tanning.

Only early morning sunlight—Bal Ravi—is healing.

Mid-day sunlight burns. Morning sunlight nourishes.

Foreigners, Fairness Creams, and a Strange Irony

Lavanya:

Why do foreigners lie in the sun for hours?

Shriji:

Because they don’t have it.

Their countries suffer from dampness, mould, and lack of sunlight. They value what they lack.

We have abundance, yet we chase fairness creams.

Keshavi:

And cosmetic companies earn billions…

Shriji:

Yes. And faces grow duller.

Where sunlight is absent, it is priceless.

Where sunlight is present, it is ignored.

 Natural Glow: Shriji’s Simple Remedies

Lavanya:

So no make up products at all?

Shriji:

Minimal is fine. Dependence is not.

Use nature:

  •  Raw cow milk

  •  Gram flour (besan)

  •  Rose petals

These cleanse deeply. Natural things respect your body’s rhythm.

Spiritual Energy, Vibrations & SelfProtection

Keshavi:

You often talk about vibrations. How is that related?

Shriji:

Everyone carries vibrations. We are devotees, immersed in bhajan. Others are not. Excessive physical contact with worldly people disturbs spiritual energy. Protect your sadhana!

Lavanya:

Even a head massage during a spa?

Shriji:

Especially that.Protect your energy. Even in chanting, focus slips easily.

 Final Reflection: Sunlight as Sadhana

Keshavi:

So sunlight isn’t just healthy… It's spiritual too!

Shriji:

Sunlight is medicine, beauty, intelligence, and sadhana combined.

When you sit in the morning Sun, you are not tanning—

you are remembering your connection with the universe.
