Beyond Celebration: The Deep Significance of Prernamurti Shriji’s Awtaran Diwas

In ancient Indian spirituality, the Awtaran Diwas (Incarnation Day) of a Saint is not merely a birthday celebration. It is viewed as a divine event — a day when a spiritual force descends to guide humanity back to the path of righteousness, peace, and self-realization.

‘Awtarati iti Awtarah’

On 15th December, as we reflect on the Awtaran Diwas of Prernamurti Shriji, we look beyond the festivities to understand the profound revolution of consciousness She has initiated. Shriji an epitome of SevaHer life’s mission transcends mere ritualism; it is a holistic movement aimed at social reform, spiritual awakening, and the preservation of Sanatan Dharma.

Here are the core pillars that define the essence of this auspicious day and the teachings of Shriji.

1. Reforming Prisoners: Compassion in Action

The foundation of Shriji’s work lies in an unwavering commitment to Hindu Dharma and the promotion of universal compassion. A unique and often overlooked aspect of this mission is the spiritual upliftment of prisoners.Rather than shunning those who have lost their way, the focus is on reformation through spirituality. By introducing Shri Ram Nam Lekhan and Recitation of Gita Shlokas in prisons, the aim is to transform hearts, turning rigorous imprisonment into a retreat for self-reflection and inner change.

2. Awakening Inner Potential

In an age of stress and external distraction, Shriji emphasizes Spiritual Health. This is not just about physical fitness, but about unlocking the dormant energy within.

  • Yoga & Pranayama: Encouraging people of all ages to maintain a healthy vessel for the soul. Shriji often conducts Online Yoga Sessions for all devotees across the globe.
  • Omkar Chanting : Shriji stresses upon Omkar chanting early morning.OM is 3 syllabled word AUM, chanting it while breaking the 3 syllable helps in awakening the 7 Chakras of the body.

3. Youths : The Architects of Tomorrow

Perhaps the most critical aspect of this mission is the focus on the youth. Shriji advocates for:

  • Brahmacharya (Celibacy/Self-Discipline): Teaching the youth that preserving their vital energy is the key to intellectual brilliance and physical strength. For Shriji path to salvation is Saiyam or self restraints. Abstaining oneself from experiencing excessive pleasures of senses is the way to Saiyam.
  • Shri Ram Nam Lekhan : Time is like sand, it slips, vanishes and never comes back.. so why not utilize it creatively? But how? Shriji has initiated Shri Ram Nam Lekhan, wherein if you are free you can write Ram Nam in a notebook (provided by Trust, also) in different designs and submit it in ShriRamNam Bank, Barkal.
  • Till today more than 140 crores of Ram Nam has been submitted.
  • Ayushmaan Bhav (Addiction-Free Life): Shriji imparts -’ 6 inch cigarette can’t pull down a 6 feet human being. When you are smoking a cigar, you are inviting lung cancer, oral cancer, eye cancer in your body. ‘
  • A fierce movement against alcohol, tobacco, and drugs should be conducted across India. The message is clear: a strong nation cannot be built by intoxicated youth. Thus, from time to time Satprerna Trust under the pious guidance of Shriji holds Deaddiction Camp — Ayushman Bhav to educate the masses from ill effects of tobacco via street plays, placards, discourses etc.

4. Give is to Live: True spirituality must result in social justice. The teachings strictly oppose the exploitation of the poor and vulnerable. A beautiful example of this community spirit is seen during festivals like Diwali. The teaching is simple yet profound: “No one’s neighbor should go hungry while we celebrate.” The sharing of resources, food, and joy with the underprivileged is considered the highest form of worship. Thus, Diwali Bhandara is organized in an under-privileged zone and all essential things plus free health checkup is provided to everyone.

During summer in scorching heat, distribution of Watermelon and buttermilk along with Sattu sherbet is provided by Satprerna volunteers pan India.

5. Environmental StewardshipNature as Divinity Long before “climate change” became a buzzword, these spiritual tenets focused on deep ecology:

  • Gau Seva (Cow Care): The cow is revered not just religiously, but as an essential part of the agrarian economy and ecological balance.
  • Gaveyedha is one such initiative dedicated to the welfare of cows, offering medical support, and promoting sustainable practices in animal care. The doctors of Gavyedha provide naturopathic treatment and free health check up camp across Gujarat.
  • Haritkranti: There is a strong drive to plant culturally and medicinally significant trees like Peepal, Tulsi, and Neem. These are chosen specifically for their high oxygen production and Ayurvedic benefits, linking spiritual merit with environmental health . In Shriji’s opinion gifting a sapling is better than a fresh yet dried floral bouquet. Eventually, the bouquet will wilt but a sapling will stay long after one passes away.
  • Cleaning river fronts : Ganges, Narmada along with Sabarmati River fronts are cleansed by Satprerna volunteers. Sanctity matters a lot! These rivers are not only the lifeline for humans but for flora and fauna as well.

6. Redefining Women’s RoleNavdha

In a powerful stance on women’s dignity, Shriji’s teachings challenge the contemporary, materialistic view of women. The philosophy asserts that a woman is an object of pleasure or consumption but a symbol of spiritual strength, sacrifice, and divinity. By recognizing the Shakti (power) within women, society is urged to treat them with the profound respect and reverence they deserve.

Shriji ensures every girl is strong enough to face all the consequences and develops her mental strength and emotional tolerance. For Shriji, one’s career should be on the priority list rather than mere friendship. Thus paying heed to one’s career and attaining a position is the core value which is imbibed by the girls in Navdha Camp.

7. Gita Prerna

In 2013, inspired by the divine vision of Prernamurti Bharti Shriji, Satprerna launched “Shri Gita Prerna,” a transformative initiative to share the message of the Bhagavad Gita far and wide. Over the past 11+ years, Satprerna has tirelessly worked to impart the Gita’s timeless teachings to people of all ages, empowering them with tools to lead purposeful and harmonious lives.

One remarkable thing is Answer to Life, a mindful compilation of essential shlokas from the Bhagavad Gita. This concise booklet simplifies the Gita’s profound wisdom, making it accessible and practical for everyday application.

Through seminars and the distribution of these booklets, more than 18 lakh individuals, including countless students, have been profoundly benefited by Shri Gita Prerna.

Conclusion

Celebrating Awtaran Diwas is about imbibing these values. It is a pledge to protect our culture, serve the needy, respect nature, and awaken the divinity within ourselves.

Happy Awtaran Diwas to all devotees!
