Let's Get Inspired By Prernamurti Shriji - Children's Day 2025

Great souls don’t just preach — they live the lessons they wish to share. Their daily lives, simple gestures, and loving interactions carry timeless wisdom for all. When we look closely at Shriji’s divine life, we find that every moment holds a gentle message to elevate our own life. This Children’s Day14 November 2025, let us look at the world through Shriji’s eyes and rediscover what it truly means to nurture a child with patience, love, and values.

 A Lesson from Shriji’s Presence

One day, after a satsang session, Shriji was meeting devotees and addressing their worries. Amid that calm gathering, a small boy, about seven or eight years old, kept jumping and running about. His playful restlessness disturbed everyone. His father tried to calm him, but the child ignored him.

Father (trying to stop him): “Beta, sit down quietly! Don’t disturb others.”

Boy: ignoring and continuing to jump

(The father looks helpless.)

Shriji smiled gently and called the boy near.

Shriji: “Come here.. You shouldn’t behave in a way that troubles others. If you sit quietly, I’ll give you toffee.”

The boy immediately sat down. A few minutes later, Shriji called him again and handed him two toffees.

Shriji (smiling): “Now tell me, to whom will you give the second toffee?”

Boy: “No one. Both are mine!”

Shriji (chuckling): “Not even to your father?”

Boy: “No, I’ll eat both!”

Shriji looked toward the father and said softly,

Shriji: “Ask him yourself.”

Father: “Beta, give me one toffee.”

Boy (pouting): “No!”

Then Shriji said lovingly,

Shriji: “If you give one to your father, I’ll give you four toffees.”

Boy (eyes lighting up): “Really?”

Shriji: “Yes.”

Instantly, the boy gave one toffee to his father. Shriji then handed him another one.

Shriji: “Now this one — give it to your mother.”

Boy: “Okay!” He runs to give it happily.

Soon, at Shriji’s request, the boy distributed toffees to everyone sitting there. After finishing, he came back to Shriji.

Shriji (smiling): “Now, how many toffees do you want?”

Boy (with a grin): “Two!”

Shriji: “Here you go, my child.”

She gives him two toffees with a loving smile.

Everyone smiled, watching how effortlessly the little one’s stubbornness melted away in Shriji’s gentle presence. At the same time his father was astonished with his behaviour of sharing because he never shared his belongings with anyone before!

Shriji's Life Lesson To Parents

“Today, “many children find it difficult to part with their things. It’s the duty of parents to nurture generosity through good values. Teach them to share, to feed others, to give with joy. This simple habit nurtures humility, leadership, and love. A sharing child earns affection everywhere.”

Shriji continued, “If the child doesn’t listen, teach with love — and sometimes, with firmness. Explain that sharing is the law of nature. The joy of giving is far greater than the pleasure of keeping. Let children distribute things themselves, for that moment becomes their first lesson in compassion.”

Her Holiness reminded everyone that while schools and society do play a role in upbringing but the first and strongest influence always comes from parents. Every great person — be it a saint, a ruler, or a reformer — was shaped by the values planted in childhood by their parents and teachers.

Stories That Shape Young Minds - by Shriji

When young Raja Ranjit Singh once saw his father examining diamonds, he asked, “Father, may I take one too?”

His father replied, “My son will not wear these small gems; he will wear the Kohinoor.”

Encouraged by those words, the boy grew into a man who made that prophecy true.

Similarly, Jijabai, mother of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, once taught him compassion for cows. When Shivaji saw a butcher dragging a cow, he struck the man’s hand to free her. That one childhood lesson became the spirit that later built Swarajya.

On the other hand, Dhritarashtra, blinded by attachment, could not restrain Duryodhana — and the result was the downfall of an entire dynasty.

Just as one wrong value can corrupt a generation, one noble value can uplift an entire society.

The True Gift of Children’s Day

Shriji concluded, “Parents must stay devoted to their sacred duty. Spend time with your children. Talk to them. Observe where they go and whom they meet. When they’re sad, lift them up. When they fail, remind them of their inner strength. And when necessary, set firm boundaries with love.

If we don’t guide these tender plants in time, the weeds of bad influence will overtake them. The same child who could grow into a great banyan tree offering shade to many might instead become a thorny bush that causes pain.”

Every great person — be it a saint, a ruler, or a reformer — was shaped by the values planted in childhood by their parents and teachers.

Children’s Day | 14 November 2025

On this Children’s Day, let us remember Shriji’s loving guidance — that parenting is not just about raising a child, but about shaping a soul.

Let every parent learn to see the world through Shriji’s compassionate eyes and raise children rooted in kindness, discipline, and light.
