Have you ever wondered — do trees actually talk?

The great Indian scientist Jagadish Chandra Bose had proven long ago that plants and trees are sensitive beings. Most of us are aware of this! But did you know that trees also talk to each other? ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ—ฃ️๐ŸŒณ

We’re not referring to childhood tales about trees having eyes, ears, or mouths. This is a scientifically proven truth ✅๐Ÿ”ฌ.

In reality, the way trees communicate is quite different. When a tree lacks or has an excess of carbon, water, or nutrients ๐Ÿ’ง๐ŸŒฌ️๐ŸŒฑ, it uses an electric impulse system ⚡ through its roots to exchange these with nearby trees ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ”„๐ŸŒณ.

Trees are so social and empathetic ๐Ÿ’ž that when a small sapling ๐ŸŒฑ grows near them, they willingly share nutrients with it — much like how we feed a child ๐Ÿฒ๐Ÿ‘ถ sitting beside us at the dining table.

Trees also have decision-making abilities ๐Ÿง ๐ŸŒณ. When sunlight ☀️ doesn't reach a tree, it adjusts its branches ๐ŸŒฟ in a way that allows the smaller plants beneath it to receive light ✨.

Trees Warn Each Other Too!

When a tree is attacked by insects, animals, or other organisms ๐Ÿ›๐ŸฆŒ๐Ÿฆ , it releases special pheromones into the air ๐ŸŒฌ️๐ŸŒฟ. These chemical signals attract natural predators like bats ๐Ÿฆ‡, wasps ๐Ÿ, or other creatures that feed on the harmful insects, acting as a natural defense system.

But that’s not all — trees also communicate through sound waves ๐Ÿ”Š๐ŸŒณ. These are frequencies too subtle for human ears, but they can be detected by other plants and some animals ๐Ÿพ๐ŸŒฑ.

For instance, when a giraffe ๐Ÿฆ’ starts munching on the leaves of an acacia tree, the tree sends out electrical signals ⚡ through its root network. Nearby acacia trees get the warning and quickly produce a toxic chemical in their leaves ๐ŸŒฟ☠️. Noticing the change, the giraffe often moves at least 100 feet away to find its next snack ๐ŸŒณ➡️๐ŸŒณ.

This remarkable underground communication system is what scientists have fittingly named the “Wood Wide Web” ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒณ — a hidden network connecting the forest in ways we are only beginning to understand.

The Science Behind Tree Communication

Beneath the soil ๐ŸŒฑ, an invisible network of roots and fungi ๐Ÿ„ connects trees ๐ŸŒณ in forests — like an internet of life ๐ŸŒ. When a tree experiences a lack of water ๐Ÿ’ง or essential minerals ๐Ÿงช, it sends out electrical signals ⚡ to its neighbors, asking for help ๐Ÿค. Older trees often share nutrients ๐Ÿฅฆ with young saplings ๐ŸŒฟ — just as elders ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿ‘ต guide and nourish the next generation ๐Ÿ‘ถ.

Trees even warn each other of danger ⚠️. When attacked by insects ๐Ÿ›, a tree releases pheromones ๐ŸŒฌ️ that attract natural predators ๐Ÿฆ‡๐Ÿ to fight the pests. This defense mechanism also triggers neighboring trees to prepare for a similar threat by producing bitter or toxic chemicals ☠️๐ŸŒฟ in their leaves.

Plants and Emotional Sensitivity

A research study in Israel ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ proved that trees can sense positive and negative emotions ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜”. Using special ultrasonic instruments ๐ŸŽง, scientists recorded sounds that plants emit when deprived of water ๐Ÿ’ง — sounds that signal distress, which other plants ๐ŸŒฑ and animals ๐Ÿฆ can perceive.

In an experiment conducted by IKEA ๐Ÿ›‹️, two identical plants ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ were kept in the same environment. One plant was spoken to lovingly ๐Ÿ’– by students, while the other was scolded and insulted ๐Ÿ˜ก. After a month, the plant that received love thrived and flourished ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒฟ, while the other wilted and faded ๐Ÿ‚.

Environment and Post-COVID Awareness

As COVID-19 variants like KP.2 and Flu-Corona ๐Ÿฆ  resurface across India in 2025 ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ, maintaining strong immunity ๐Ÿ’ช and clean air ๐Ÿƒ has become more crucial than ever. Medical experts ๐Ÿฉบ and environmentalists ๐ŸŒ both agree: green spaces ๐ŸŒณ reduce respiratory issues ๐Ÿซ, lower stress ๐Ÿ˜Œ, and build resilience against infections — a reminder that clean air and green cover are no longer luxuries, but lifelines ❤️‍๐Ÿฉน.

Corona taught us that hospitals can run out of oxygen ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿ˜ท, but forests never do ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒฟ. Trees are the truest ventilators — silent, selfless, and ever-giving ๐ŸŒฌ️๐Ÿ’š.

Traditional Indian Solutions for Air Purification

Following the guidance of Prernamurti Bharti Shriji ๐Ÿ™, many devotees and wellness enthusiasts have started using cow dung cakes ๐Ÿ„ mixed with ghee ๐Ÿงˆ, neem leaves ๐ŸŒฟ, and camphor ๐Ÿ”ฅ to purify their homes ๐Ÿก. When burnt, these traditional materials release antibacterial vapors ๐ŸŒฌ️๐Ÿฆ  that cleanse the air and uplift the atmosphere — a Vedic method ๐Ÿ“œ now gaining scientific validation ๐Ÿ”ฌ✅.

๐ŸŒฟ HaritKranti | Guru Purnima Mahotsav | Prernamurti Bharti Shriji ๐ŸŒฟ
"SAVE NATURE TO ENSURE FUTURE"

During the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima ๐ŸŒ•, under the divine guidance of Pujya Prernamurti Bharti Shriji ๐Ÿ™, devotees offered their love and gratitude not just through prayers, but through action —
๐ŸŒฑ By offering plants at the sacred lotus feet of the Guru ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ‘ฃ.

This symbolic gesture was part of the HaritKranti initiative ๐ŸŒฟ, reminding us that true devotion also means caring for Mother Nature ๐ŸŒ.

On Raksha Bandhan ๐Ÿช”, a HaritKranti Vedic Raksha Bandhan was celebrated — tying rakhis not just to brothers ๐Ÿค, but also to trees ๐ŸŒณ, pledging to protect them as guardians of our future ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’š.

Let this tradition continue to inspire us all —
To nurture the Earth ๐ŸŒ as we revere the Divine ✨.

Sanatan Culture: Trees as Divine Family

In our culture, trees are sacred beings ๐ŸŒณ✨. They’re not just part of nature, but part of our family ๐Ÿ‘ช๐ŸŒฟ. In older times, before leaving home for travel, people would say:
Please water the plants in our absence” ๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿ™.

Scriptures say:
“เคฆเคถเค•ूเคชเคธเคฎाเคตाเคชी เคฆเคถเคตाเคชी เคธเคฎो เคนเคฆः।
เคฆเคถเคนเคฆเคธเคฎः เคชुเคค्เคฐो เคฆเคถเคชुเคค्เคฐเคธเคฎो เคฆ्เคฐुเคฎः॥”

Ten wells equal one pond, ten ponds equal one lake, ten lakes equal one son — but one tree equals ten sons! ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ‘ฆ

In the divine leelas of Lord Krishna, the trees of Vrindavan responded to his moods. During his departure, trees withered in sorrow ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ‚, while gopis embraced them, crying in separation ๐Ÿ’”๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ˜ญ.

The relationship between divine beings and nature has always been central to Indian spirituality ๐Ÿ•‰️๐ŸŒบ.

Global Movements Rooted in Tree Love

  • In the Philippines ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ, students must plant 30 trees ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒฑ before graduating ๐ŸŽ“ — a commitment to nurture the planet for future generations.

  • In Rajasthan’s Khejarli village ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ, 262 Bishnoi villagers sacrificed their lives ✊๐ŸŒฟ to protect trees from being cut down ๐ŸŒณ❌ — a powerful legacy that inspired the Chipko Movement ๐Ÿค๐ŸŒฒ and led to national forest conservation policies ๐Ÿ“œ๐ŸŒ. As a result, then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi imposed a 15-year ban on tree felling ๐Ÿšซ๐ŸŒณ.

Interesting Fact:

Did you know that World Environment Day and the sacred festival of Ganga Dussehra both fall on June 5th this year? Reminding us to purify both nature and soul. ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒŠ

Ganga Dussehra celebrates the holy descent of Maa Ganga to Earth, and what better day to honor rivers than the one dedicated to our environment? ๐Ÿ•Š️

As we plant trees and promise to protect our forests, let’s also resolve to keep our rivers clean — for where trees breathe, rivers flow. ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ’ง

The ancient Ganga, like the trees, carries healing power — both need reverence, not exploitation. ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ™

Let this sacred day, inspired by Prernamurti Bharti Shriji and echoed in ‘Prabhu Main Tera’, awaken the inner eco-warrior and devotee in us all. ⚡๐ŸŒŽ
