🤔When is World Emoji Day 2022?
🙋 We chose July 17 as the date for World Emoji Day because it is famously displayed on the Calendar Emoji 📅. World Emoji Day 2022 date honors several of the world’s meaningful icons for digital calendars.
Why not celebrate emojis🌟, which we all use every day?
🌍🌦️World Emoji Day is arriving soon 📅
so, 🙌 Take part in the fun 😂 😃🧘🏻♂️ 🍞 🚗 📞 🎉 ❤️!!
Why is World Emoji Day celebrated❓
💡 This July 17 was picked because of the calendar emoji date; however, the day is far more than simply one emoji. The celebration of all emojis is known as World Emoji Day🎉😍🥳🎉, the day encourages us to send one-of-a-kind messages using emojis. The day’s main goal is to encourage people to use emojis in their communications.
World Emoji Day recognises the day displayed on the iOS Calendar Emoji, and it even has its own hymn! Isn’t it amusing how history circles back on itself? Before alphabetic languages were formed, the globe used to communicate via visuals, and now we’re back to using them in the current age! Of course, they’re much more technologically advanced now and can move on their own, but they’re still a fantastic way to express yourself and make others laugh.
It all started with a Bad Joke 😶
In 1982, a joke at Carnegie Mellon University went horribly wrong, prompting the creation of the emoticon. Because of the confusion caused by a joke about a fictitious mercury dump posted on an online message board, Dr. Scott E. Fahlman proposed that jokes and nonjokes be distinguished by two sets of characters which we now recognise as standard emoticons: the smiley face:-) and the frowning face:-(. After that, emoticons became quite popular among Internet users.
Emoticon or Emoji 🤔
There were emoticons before the emoji.
Emoticons (emotion + icon) were created to portray emotions in writings that were otherwise devoid of them.
Sorry for bringing up a fresh can of worms, but we need to handle this. You’ve heard of an emoticon, but have you heard of an emoji? Were you under the impression they were the same person? Here’s how to distinguish between emoticons and emoji.
Is there a distinction between emoticons and emojis, and how do smileys fit in? Let’s start with the facts. However, the distinction between the two is straightforward: emoticons are combinations of symbols found on your keyboard, such as letters and punctuation marks, whereas emojis are images. We’ll go through this in further depth later.
What Is an Emoji, exactly?
To put it simply, emojis are images of human emotions, live beings, objects, and even symbols. Emojis (plural emojis) are a type of pictogram that can depict anything from a smiling face to a mango. Every year, new emojis are released, much to the delight of smartphone users. Emoji is a Japanese word that literally means “picture character” (from Japanese e — “picture,” and moji — “letter, character”).
Emoji were created in 1999 by Shigetaka Kurita with a Japanese audience in mind. Emoji are now available in almost all messaging apps, and while different apps have different emoji styles, Unicode allows emoji to be translated across platforms.
Every year, new emojis are created (both emoji and emojis are acceptable plural forms of the word). Jeremy Burge was born in the United Kingdom and is an emoji historian. The originator of Emojipedia, as well as the author of World Emoji Day, is widely regarded as an emoji genius. All emoji updates are tracked by emojipedia.org across all platforms and operating systems. More than 1800 emojis are available, covering a wide range of topics. Emojis on Social Media Platforms
Emoji faces are used on SMS and social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. They were previously known as smileys and are frequently confused with emoticons and they’re used in a variety of ways. In the Messenger app, you may add emoticons to photographs you share by using stickers, comments, or large characteristic Facebook emojis. WhatsApp features its own emoji designs, which are available on both the Android and web versions of the app. Whatsapp Rolled Out Emoji Message Reactions such as
👍Thumbs-up
❤️Heart
😂Sobbing with Laughter
😯Surprised face
☹️Sad
😭crying face
simply long-press the message and then tap on one of the icons to select an emoji to react with.
Instagram makes use of the built-in emoji keyboard for iOS and Android. Swiping up from the center of the screen in the Stories interface exposes a set of stickers, followed by recent emojis. Instagram now allows users to search for photographs using emoji hashtags.
☃️ Snowman
🍕 Pizza
🎺Trumpet are some examples.
😮An Interesting Fact you should know: Among the 6.44 million total emojis hashtagged on Instagram thus far, a simple red heart ❤️ won out by a long shot including those found in captions and comments.
